To see-be seen

What does 'seeing' and 'being seen' mean?

When you participate in traffic on your bike, it is important to be able to see well yourself and to be seen by other road users. On our website, a distinction is made between ‘seeing’ and ‘being seen’ when it comes to lighting.

Seeing

‘Seeing’ indicates how far you can see with the lighting yourself. This lighting is mainly used by cyclists who ride on poorly lit roads and use the lamp to have a good view of the road surface themselves.

Being seen

‘Being seen’ indicates from how many meters away you can be seen by other road users. This lighting is especially useful when cycling in the city and wanting to be seen on well-lit roads.
